ABOUT DEMolition LACROSSE

​​Mission Statement

DEMolition Lacrosse is a not-for-profit lacrosse club solely dedicated to promoting the game of lacrosse at the youth and high school levels to skilled players from the greater Bergen County area and surrounding areas. The guiding principle of DEMolition Lacrosse is to further develop the skills, understanding and appreciation of the game at a minimum cost.

Team members and their families will be required to perform documented community service activities as part of their participation in the program.

​Dan Bellinger - Head Coach

A native of Fair Lawn, Dan played for the Cutters Lacrosse team all four years where he was a stand out defender and three time Varsity player.  His senior 1993 team was Undefeated Gibbs Division Champs, state ranked number #1 and state tournament semi-finalists.  Dan went on to play four seasons at Stockton University where he was a four year starter, team captain, and 2X All Conference selection at defense.

Upon graduation from college Dan returned to Fair Lawn to Coach and be Program Director of the Fair Lawn Rec lacrosse program from 1998 - 2007.  He then went on to help out the Paramus Girls Youth Lacrosse program as an assistant coach 2008-2009.

​

Since 2014 Dan has coached in the Washington Township/Westwood Falcons Youth Lacrosse program.

​Matt Biello  - Head Coach

A native of Fair Lawn, Matt played for the Cutters Lacrosse team all four years and was teammates with Coach Bellinger and also a senior member of the 1993 team that was Undefeated Gibbs Division Champs, state ranked number #1 and state tournament semi-finalists. Having had 6 knee operations by HS graduation Matt attended Montclair State University and began coaching HS in 1994 starting as a volunteer JV coach at his alma mater Fair Lawn HS for two season before becoming a hired paid assistant coach in 1996 and continued in that role until 2002 season. 

​

Matt was hired as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Fair Lawn HS in 2003 until he stepped down after the 2013 season.  Passing the team over to his protege and former player he stayed on as Varsity assistant for 2 more seasons. During his tenure as Head Coach his teams built a record of 120 wins and 86 losses with 110 wins coming his last 9 seasons.  The Cutters won 2 Division titles, runners up 3 times, tied the school record for wins in a season (16) twice.  His 2005 squad was the Bergen County Team of the year.  He has been selected 2X Division Coach of the Year and has had over 60 players receive all league selections, 21 all state selections, 3 division POY,

4  USILA Academic All Americans, and 1 USILA All American.

Matt took over the Westwood High School program in 2016 where he is the current Head Coach.  His teams there have had many success as a young program.  They have set new marks for wins in a season, have had over 20 all league selections, and like every team (Fair Lawn & Westwood) under Coach Biello, has made the state tournament every season.  Matt was selected Division Coach of the Year in 2016.  Matt has coached in the Fair Lawn Recreation Lacrosse Program on and off for 20 seasons.  He created the soft cross co-ed clinic program there when his son was starting out in the game.

Ed Troy  - 2024 Head Coach

A native of Ridgewood, Ed was a 2 year Varsity letterman attackman.  He is a member of the RHS Sports Hall of Fame "streak of 44" teams where the Ridgewood Maroons Lacrosse squads won 44 consecutive games and won 2 State Championships. Ed went on to play four varsity seasons at Lynchburg College as an attackman.

Ed starting coaching in 1997 returning to his HS alma mater where he coached the JV squad.  The following 1998 season he moved to an assistant position at Hampden-Sydney College, where the team was Old Dominion Athletic Conference Champions.  

​

Since 2014 Ed has coached in the Washington Township/Westwood Falcons Youth Lacrosse program.

Eric Torres - 2024 Coach

A native of Fair Lawn, Eric played for the Cutters Lacrosse team all four years and was teammates with Coach Bellinger and Coach Biello and graduated in 1992.  Eric attended Potomac State College in West Virginia.

​

Eric started his coaching career in 2007 as an assistant lacrosse coach at St. Joseph's in Montvale where he ran the freshman and JV squads and a few seasons later ran the offense as a Varsity assistant until 2014.  In 2017 Eric joined the staff at Pascack Valley High School. Eric has also been coaching the Pascack Valley Recreation Lacrosse Program since 2010 as head coach for many different teams.

Chris Pettit - 2030 Head Coach
Coach Pettit has been involved in the game of lacrosse at all levels for over 40 years.  The Long Island, NY native was a 3 sport High School athlete who went on to earn a scholarship to play lacrosse at the University of Maryland.  At Maryland he was part of 2 NCAA finalist teams and an ACC championship winning team.

 

Post college he began his coaching career in both lacrosse and football at the HS and youth level. Combined with 20 years of professional sports experience, he brings a unique passion and insight to coaching and developing talent to the highest level of success.

 

Coach Pettit brings access to a wide range of elite coaches and athletes that will enhance every player’s ability on and off the field.

Sean Owens - 2030 Assistant Coach
Coach Owens has been involved in the sport of lacrosse for over 30 years. Hailing from Fair Lawn, New Jersey, he excelled as a four-year letterman as a defenseman/LSM at Fair Lawn High School (Class of '97) before moving on to play at the University of Hartford.

 

Following the conclusion of his playing career at UoH, Coach Owens embarked on a coaching journey at Indian Hills High School. He is a certified boys level 2 USA Lacrosse coach and has been a coach in the Fair Lawn Boys and Girls lacrosse programs for 10 years.

 

Coach Owens dedicates his personal time to dyeing and stringing lacrosse heads for athletes at all levels (@dipstixlax). His deep passion for lacrosse resonates not only in his personal life but also in his role as a coach.

Sean Morrison - Administrator

A veteran of more than two decades as an collegiate athletic administrator in development, marketing, alumni affairs, and sports media relations.  He currently serves as NJIT’s Director of Development for Athletics.

 
Morrison, a 1993 graduate of Seton Hall University, began his administrative career at his alma mater, serving as Assistant Sports Information Director, before going to Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, for six years, beginning in 1996. He held several titles within the Marist Department of Athletics and served as Director of Alumni Affairs for Marist from January 2001 through August 2002.

 

He returned to New Jersey in 2002, joining the staff at Fairleigh Dickinson in May 2006 As the Associate Athletics Director-External Affairs.  Among his many accomplishments was securing gifts and stewarding development of the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex on FDU’s campus in Teaneck, NJ.

 

While working at Fairleigh Dickinson, he earned a Master’s of Sports Administration in May 2010.
